Welcome to ‘Kelk Creek – where two waters meet'

Kelk Creek is a low key, low impact bush retreat offering guided interpretive bush walks and a scenic rest stop at Djugarargyn, on the Dampier Peninsula , 155 km`s North of Broome.

Formerly operating as Djugarargyn Bush Retreat and Cultural Walks, our small community at Djugarargyn has welcomed visitors to come and share in our culture and country for the past four years.

The feedback received from visitors has encouraged us to set up Kelk Creek, and allow guests to come out and stay with us for short stay cultural retreats. These retreats will offer visitors a more in-depth cultural experience, with the opportunity to soak up the tranquillity of the native bush land, come on informative guided tours and experience traditional community life.

“We invite you to share our unique cultural lifestyle”

In 2008 we will be opening our new bush retreat accommodation and will cater for up to four guests at time, in comfortable eco friendly accommodation.

Hosts, Deborah, Steve and their family have strived to develop their traditional lands as a place where family can return and re-establish kinship ties. Here guests will have the opportunity to learn about the cultural heritage of the Bardi / Nimanburru people of this area.

Deborah has both formal training and a wealth of traditional knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area, and both she and Steve are actively involved in educating visitors and conserving and the natural environment.
